Chitown mayor Rosaria Mangoma donates sanitary ware to vulnerable women

Chitungwiza mayor Cllr. Rosaria Mangoma today led a delegation of female councillors to donate sanitary ware to ZimCare Trust’s Sharon Cohen Special School in Unit K, Seke.

Councillors Betty Jasoni, Edith Mundiya, Tarisai Chikukwa, Sandra Mugunde and Agatha Mujati were part of team that made the donations in commemoration of Menstrual Hygiene Day.

Cllr Jasoni who is one of the leaders of the Chitungwiza Municipality Gender Desk initiated the donation.

The theme of this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day is a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.

Menstrual hygiene day is meant to serve as a platform to bring together individuals, organisations, social businesses and the media to create a united and strong voice for women and girls.

The day is designed to break the silence about menstrual hygiene management.

After the donation 31 trees were also planted at the institution.
