HARARE mayor Jacob Mafume has announced that council has suspended  23  officials on  allegations  of corruption involving millions of dollars, taking advantage of  the removal of the proper high-end Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) billing system .

Recently government refused to approve Harare’s 2024 budget citing the lack of a functional computer-based organisational system ( ERP) which  has contributed greatly to low revenue collection.

“We now have over 23 staff in the finance department on suspension pending disciplinary hearings because of a gap, among other things, created by lack of an ERP system and audited accounts,”
